| A few modelling modifications are still required in certain areas,
especially on the tail fins, which are still not correct, but in the meantime, I have
started to modify the original White Star textures in order to create White Star 90: the
ship captained by Garibaldi in A Call to Arms. The main difference between White
Star 90 and the original White Star design is that the ship's skin is now heavily ridged
and lumpy. This is achieved by using the mottled blue patterning as a bump-map. There are
other minor changes, which will become apparent when I release the model. For now, here are two sets of preliminary renders for you to look at. These pages will open into a new browser window, and I recommend that you blow-up the window to full screen size to view the pictures. The first set of images are the first available which show one of the new nebulae that I have recently painted. This nebula will form part of a collection of nebulae, planets and starfields which I will release shortly. Refer to the news page of ap3d.com periodically to see when this is released. You may have noticed that these images are still using the original Foundation Imaging texture map on the tail fins. For more information on this, or if you don't know what I'm talking about, have a look at the next page of this preview. |
